The Alzheimer's Disease Games Meetup

This is a small Meetup group for people who suffer from Alzheimer's/Dementia Disease in the Triangle Area that are between the Mild-Moderate stages. My Father is 74 years old and was recently diagnosed between the mild-moderate stage. My husband and I moved him here with us from Virginia about a month ago. He loves to play Checkers, Rook and Shoot Pool. I would like to start a group of 2-3 people that meets once a week for 2-4 hours at my home that can function in a social/group setting. Individuals need to be able to play at least one or more of the above games. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to learn new games with this disease. The Stage restriction is so our group consists of people in the same life stage with the same disease. Individuals need to be able to use personal facilities on their own.
